Megyn Kelly is taking her alleged dark past and transforming it into strength! She claimed former FOX News CEO, Roger Ailes sexually harassed her. Now, Megyn admitted that it was Gretchen Carlson who forced her to finally speak out! See how Gretchen encouraged her to reveal the reported harassment that haunted her for years.
Megyn Kelly, 45, is turning fear into empowerment with her new book, Settle For More. In the memoir, she reveals the dark details about the times ex-CEO of FOX News, Roger Ailes, 76, allegedly sexually harassed her at the network. In an appearance on The View, Nov. 17, she revealed what exactly drove her to finally speak up about her sexual harassment claims after so many years. After her colleague, Gretchen Carlson, 50, came forward with a hard-hitting lawsuit against Ailes, claiming he sexually harassed her for years at FOX, which eventually led to her termination from the network, Megyn said she had somewhat of an epiphany.
“And the end of the story basically is, when he [Roger] finally got accused of it [alleged ‘sexual harassment’] by my colleague Gretchen Carlson, and other women started coming forward. By that point, it donned on me, that it was not just me, which I was led to believe at the time by my supervisor, and by that point I did have some power and I used it,” Megyn explained.
At the time of the alleged sexual harassment, Megyn admitted that she felt powerless. This was to due the fact that she was only at the network for about 12 months. It was the beginning of what would be her iconic career, but she just didn’t know it yet. “Women have chosen for so many years to just deal because that’s what we believe we had to do to survive in a man’s world, to get ahead, to not be labeled as a whiner or a complainer or someone who couldn’t hang with the guys,” Megyn explained. “That’s the position I was in when it was happening to me and I had no power. I’ve been there for 12 months [at the time]… And at the time, I didn’t know what to do… But I knew the reality of the situation that if I went to the general council, it would be career suicide for me. He controlled all of those people.” That is awful. We can’t even imagine how she felt at the time of the alleged occurrences.
Megyn also admitted that news of her reported sexual harassment by Ailes came out “against” her will. But, when Gretchen and multiple other women came out publicly claiming Roger had done the same to them, she just knew it was the right time to take back that part of her life.
It was very interesting though — The FOX News anchor explained how she was allegedly being harassed at the same time that she had a good work relationship with Ailes. She even admitted the same thing in an interview with GMA, Nov. 15.

GMA played back an interview where she once said, Roger “had her back” and she praised him. “Both things can be true,” Megyn explained of the footage. “I mean, a woman can be harassed and then go on to have a good working relationship with the man harassing her, and that is what happened in my case.” However, Megyn did say she “had no power” at the time. This is just devastating.
Whether this is true or not, we hope Megyn can be a positive force in the lives of many women everywhere, who may be going through anything similar to her claims.
