Lisa Masters was found dead in her room at the Nuevo Mundo hotel by employees on Nov. 15, local outlet Peru 21 reports. She hanged herself with her skirt, according to authorities, who also say she had been struggling with depression. Anti-depressants, Diazepam and two letters that showed she was struggling weth mental health issues were also found in the room, authorities add. So sad.
Friends of Lisa have set up a GoFundMe page, where you can donate to help cover travel and funeral expenses. “Our dear friend Lisa Masters passed away tragically and unexpectedly in Lima, Peru on November 15, 2016. Lisa’s genuine warmth, generosity and tenacious strength will be deeply missed,” the page reads.
“Lisa’s beloved husband William is shocked and grieving her sudden loss,” her friends add on the page. “In the midst of his mourning, William faces daunting financial challenges, including the substantial funeral and transport expenses for Lisa in and between Peru and the United States…Our hearts go out to our dear friend William. We will miss Lisa very, very much.”
Lisa was an active model, and had roles on popular shows such as Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Ugly Betty and Gossip Girl. She also served as an art director on the 2008 film Beneath the Mississippi.
