Donald Trump has divided a country but he’s brought one couple closer together: Corey Feldman is engaged! The movie star and rocker proposed to his girlfriend, Courtney Anne, not just because he loves her but he’s also scared that President Trump will kick her out of the USA!
“She was very surprised, excited and started crying,” Corey, 45, said when telling PEOPLE magazine about Courtney’s, 27, reaction to his proposal. “She was surprised because we had both been so anti-marriage since we met.”
“But seeing as she’s Canadian and with [Donald] Trump coming in, we didn’t want to risk being separated by new immigration laws.” After all, Donald, 70, has vowed to deport at least 3 million immigrants as soon as he takes office, so Corey’s fears are not unfounded.
Courtney wasn’t the only one getting emotional with this big decision. Corey had a major case of the butterflies! “I was of course a bit nervous, as any man will admit, you never truly know what a woman is thinking,” he said. “So as much as I assumed she would be happy and say ‘yes,’ there’s always that insecure part of my brain that regresses immediately to my childhood and thought maybe not.”
Perhaps it was the sweet way that Corey proposed that convinced her to be his blushing bride. Instead of a big display with fireworks or roses or a full band, Corey just needed his love and a notecard. ”I kinda chickened out and did a written proposal by writing a note with two check boxes,” he said, “one for yes and the other for no. Of course there was a ring in there with the note. Luckily she said ‘yes!’
That is seriously the cutest thing ever. The happy couple plans to hold a “small, secret wedding for family soon,” according to Corey, with a “big public wedding” for friends and media sometime next year. The question is: who will play the extravaganza? Will Corey and his Angels play his own wedding?
Corey thrust his musical career in the spotlight with a pair of bizarre TODAY show performances. Though he received some major backlash from haters, he did win over Miley Cyrus, who encouraged him to follow his passion. Gasp! Will she be invited to the wedding? That would be so sweet.
Congratulations to Corey and Courtney! HollywoodLifers, are you glad that these two are getting married? Do you think it’s sensible for them to tie the knot out of fear that President Trump will deport her?
