The time has come! ‘Teen Wolf’ season 6 premieres tonight, Nov. 15, and it’s going to be the most emotional season yet. HollywoodLife.com talked EXCLUSIVELY to EP Jeff Davis about all things Stiles and Lydia, Scott’s biggest challenges in the final season, Theo’s big return and more!
Will Stiles and Lydia finally go there this season?
You definitely get an “I love you” from someone, which we saw in the trailer. As always with Teen Wolf, we can’t give the fans everything they want all at once. This is very much a season about the disappearance and the loss of Stiles. So, we like to hold things off. I’ll tease that we’ve come back around to really understanding that this is a great relationship in Teen Wolf, and we want to mine it for as much drama and tension as possible. You’ll definitely see a lot of Stiles and Lydia drama.
Will this be a total memory loss, or will the pack realize something’s missing from their lives?
For each of them — for Scott, Malia, and Lydia — Stiles has had a profound effect on their lives, and when he goes missing, there’s a massive loss in their lives. They each feel it. You can’t just erase someone from your life as much as the Ghost Riders try. Each of them will begin to feel that loss and begin to feel some missing part of themselves, because the people we meet and people who have a profound effect on our lives stick with you. There’s a great scene in episode two where Scott, Malia, and Lydia all come together to kind of discuss what’s missing in their lives. That’s the power of a person to impact your life. That’s very much along the themes of the season. How your friends and the people you love are really an indelible part of your lives and can’t be erased.
Is Lydia going to be the one who remembers Stiles first?
Well, I’ll tell you something happens at the end of the second episode that is a callback to the first season of Teen Wolf. It’s a fun callback, so there’s a little surprise in there for fans who have seen all the season?
What other challenges will Scott be facing in 6A?
His challenges have a lot to do with finding his way without Kira, facing senior year and graduation and what he’s going to be doing with his life, kind of actually wondering who is going to be the protector of Beacon Hills, which is a supernatural beacon. His great worry is: Can I leave Beacon Hills? Is it going to be safe without me? Or should I stay? Should I give up college? Should I give up a future? And stay here because people could be in danger. That’s going to be a lot of his struggle.
Is there a romance for Scott in the future?
Yes, surprisingly. We’re not doing it in 6A. Tyler Posey’s excited about doing an arc where it’s not necessarily about a romance and what Scott’s like on his own for a while. There might be a little romance creeping in in 6B. We’re still writing it.
Cody Christian is back! So how does Theo comes back into play?
Theo becomes a necessary evil and he has certain abilities and certain characteristics that are necessary to solve the problem. He becomes a very reluctant ally. We have some fun scenes with Cody Christian and Dylan Sprayberry, who are a pretty good match onscreen. They have a lot of intensity and anger there. One of the things was, after working with Cody, he’s such a pro, such a great guy. Part of the reason we brought him back is because we liked Cody so much. But he’s one of those fun villains to always have, who you kind of hate but kind of love, too.
HollywoodLifers, do you think Stiles and Lydia are endgame? Are you glad Theo’s coming back? Let us know!
