Willow Smith is wise beyond her years. She just dropped a new track titled, ‘November 9’, and transformed her emotions from the 2016 election results into a beautiful ballad. The song is moving and heartfelt, and it gives individuals hope that everything will be ok. Listen to the somber track here!
Willow Smith, 16, has always been outspoken, whether it’s an eye-catching accessory, or a fierce piece of clothing that she’s rocking. But, she just outdid herself with her latest slow track, “November 9”. She announced the soft song on her SoundCloud, Nov. 13, and it’s already receiving rave reviews. The singer used music to release her emotions from Donald Trump‘s, 70, election victory. The emotional message is a 1:39 ballad, that gives hope, comfort, and guidance to those who may be upset from the presidential outcome or the events that are going on within our nation. Listen to the painfully beautiful track below!
“I wrote this song on the day of the election. Peace and revelations to all!”, Willow wrote on her SoundCloud account when she released the song. She used the hashtag “transcendental lullaby” to describe the moving tune. Although the track is rather short, Willow was able to recount exactly what some individuals are feeling during this post-election time — “Sadness and anger.”
Willow’s voice was soft and peaceful as she sang, “Baby girl, I know you’re tired, don’t let the world put out your fire. Take my hand and you will see, sadness and anger aren’t everything.” She continued, “Baby boy, don’t lose your sweetness… take my hand and you shall see, suppression and pain are not everything.” The powerful melody had a harmonious, uplifting tune to it. Willow nailed every note, with her voice hitting different pitches. She finished off the song with, “Little rock up in the sky, just know we’re sick and asking why. Little ball falls through the void, it holds us together and endures our choices.” We’re loving how mature Willow is, and she definitely expresses that in her song lyrics!
Willow has been pretty vocal about her opinions of the 2016 election. Just a few days ago she posted a photo of Donald to her Instagram, with a little girl, captioned, “No.” The day before that she uploaded a photo with an unidentified individual holding a sign that said, “My rapist supports Trump.” The outspoken teen wrote, “Open your eyes; Open them wide,” as the caption.
The young star has been known to dabble in a few genres of work, including modeling and acting on top of her singing career. She’s was most recently featured in Kid Cudi‘s, 32, music video for “Surfin”. And, we may get to hear her stunning voice even more…
Kid Cudi tweeted what looks like a track list for his upcoming album, and if you read closely, you can see that Willow is featured on a song titled, “Rose Golden”. Hopefully this will be an epic collaboration!
