Val Kilmer, 56, put on a brave face when he addressed the crowd at a Los Angeles showing of his play Citizen Twain, but it was clear that he is having trouble speaking. WATCH the video, via TMZ, right here.
As you can see in the video, Val is having difficulty enunciating his words as he explains to the crowd how he had to cancel a tour because his tongue at swelled up. “Obviously I’m still recovering. My tongue swelled up and I canceled the tour. As I’m recovering I’m showing this,” the actor says. “I still have a swollen tongue and am rehabbing steadily.” Sadly, you can see him drooling throughout the video, and he also reveals that his condition has forced him to cancel production on his one-man play version of Twain. However, Val reiterates that he has “no cancer whatsoever”.
As we previously told you, Michael Douglas, 72, implied at a Q&A in London that Val is battling cancer. “Val [is] dealing with exactly what I had (oral cancer), and things don’t look too good for him,” Michael said. “My prayers are with him. That’s why you haven’t heard too much from Val lately.”
Before Michael’s comments, Val was seen leaving the UCLA medical center and wearing scarves around his neck, but the actor took to social media in Oct. 2015 to tell fans that he didn’t have cancer. “Thank you all for your love and support. There’s a rumor I’m unwell again and in hospital which is totally untrue. I was in to verify I have no tumor or infection of any kind which was verified by the very caring experts at UCLA,” he wrote on Facebook. Whatever he is dealing with, we wish him well!
