Since revealing his 3-year-old son’s liver cancer diagnosis, Michael Buble has stayed completely out of the spotlight — even canceling his performance at the BBC Music Awards! And it looks like that isn’t the last appearance he’ll be dropping out of as, according to his friend David Foster, Michael will not be singing at ALL until little Noah is better.
Michael Buble, 41, and his wife Luisana Lopilato, 29, are determined to help their oldest son Noah, 3, get better. In fact, they’ve even decided to put their careers on hold while they focus all their time and energy on their family and Noah’s liver cancer treatment. And while we are completely on board with their decision, there’s no doubt we’re going to miss the sound of Michael’s heavenly voice!
“[Michael] will not sing again until his child is well,” Michael’s friend and producer David Foster, 67, told ET Canada on Nov. 10. “I think Michael right now is in a huge bubble as you would expect when this happens. Everything shuts down around you [and] you go inside your little bubble.”
After Michael and his Argentinian actress & model wife announced to fans earlier this month that Noah was diagnosed with cancer, supporters immediately took to social media to shower the Buble family with love. The hashtag “PrayForNoah” even trended on Twitter at the time. However, David revealed that Michael most likely hasn’t even gone on social media since the heartbreaking incident.
That doesn’t mean he hasn’t felt their support though! “I don’t think he’s looking at social media [but] I’m sure he feels the love from millions of people,” David added. He also said that Revlon’s Ron Perelman and actress Marlo Thomas, whose late father, Danny Thomas, founded St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, have reached out to him with offers to help Noah.
And David predicts he’ll be just fine after treatment. “He’s in good shape,” the producer told the media outlet. “He’s got good doctors around him. We will hope and pray for a good outcome, which I believe that they will have.”
When Michael and Luisana told fans the tragic news, they said they were “devastated” but hopeful. “We are devastated about the recent cancer diagnosis of our oldest son Noah, who is currently undergoing treatment in the U.S.,” they wrote in a statement. “We have always been very vocal about the importance of family and the love we have for our children.”
The married couple, who are also the proud parents of son Elias, 9 months, added that they were planning to “devote all our time and attention to helping Noah get well.” Looks like that’s exactly what they’re doing and we wish them all the best!
