Dwyane’s teammate, Bobby Portis, 21, summed it up when he spoke with D-Wade earlier in the week. “Thursday’s gonna be crazy. You ready?” he asked, according to the Miami Herald. Dwyane replied, “Nah, I ain’t. I don’t know what kind of emotions will come over me.” After all, since he was picked in the 2003 NBA Draft, Dwyane played for the Miami Heat until he left the team under free agency in July of 2016. Negotiations “went sour,” according to CSN Chicago, but D-Wade insists that he and his former team are on good terms.
“It’s nothing but respect and I have no hard feelings,” he said ahead of the game. “I understand what [Heat president Pat Riley] is – he’s a competitor…People might not believe me, but I have no hard feelings toward Pat. Everything happened the way it was supposed to happen, everything happens for a reason, so I’m fine.”
With a 4-4 record, the Bulls are definitely “fine,” though they could be doing better. At least they’re not struggling like Miami, as the Heat have put up a 2-4 record at the start of the 2016 NBA season.
They’ll have to deal with the Bulls triple towers of terror, as Wade will team up with Rajon Rondo, 30, and Robin Lopez, 28. Along with Taj Gibson, 31, and Jimmy Butler, 27, Chicago has a decent offense. They’re still working out the kinks but this squad may just lead them to the playoffs. Here’s hoping Miami recovers enough after this slow start.
Who do you think will win this game, HollywoodLifers? Do you think Dwyane will leave Miami with a win or will this homecoming result in a Chicago loss?
