The 2016 election results are shocking, but Jimmy Kimmel is here to hold your hand and take you through the five stages of grief that many of us are feeling over a Donald Trump presidency. WATCH the hilarious video right here!
Jimmy Kimmel, 48, is as devastated as the rest of us, but he managed to find the humor in the situation, as a comedian does during times of tragedy. If you need help processing the idea that Donald Trump, 70, will soon be President, simply WATCH Jimmy’s “5 Stages of Grief” segment from the Nov. 9 episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live! above.
“A lot of voters woke up this morning happy that Donald Trump had won the election, but the other half of them, especially here in California, were very upset,” Jimmy begins in the video. “People were shocked, despondent, some were even crying.” He then walks through the five stages of grief:
“No, the host of Celebrity Apprentice can’t possibly be our president; CNN must have the math wrong,” Jimmy jokes.
“Who do I blame for this?” Jimmy asks. “Bernie [Sanders]? The FBI? Gary Johnson? Jill Stein? How is it possible that half the country is too busy to even vote? They all managed to play Pokémon Go!”
“Maybe this needed to happen to wake up everyone up,” he rationalizes. “Maybe this is a good thing. Maybe he’ll only build the wall waist high, to keep short people out.” Yes, maybe.
“[This is] where you get a spoon and you just eat peanut butter out of the jar.”
“No matter how you feel about it, Donald Trump is the president of the United States of America,” Jimmy concludes. “So thank god we legalized marijuana yesterday.” BRB, moving to California.
