When the ‘That’s So Raven’ spinoff hits Disney Channel, Raven will be a mom! New details about the spinoff have been revealed, including the scoop on her kids! Spoiler alert: One of her kids has inherited her powers!
In the highly-anticipated spinoff, Raven Baxter is going to be a divorced mom of two pre-teen kids, according to E! News. Casting is underway for Raven’s children, one of whom has inherited their mom’s ability to see into the future.
Raven’s daughter, Nia, is “bold and confident.” She never gives up, even when a situation might get her into trouble. She “always wants to help people and do what’s right.” When the show starts, she has just started middle school. Nia gets the shock of her life when she suddenly discovers she can see visions of the future!
Raven’s younger song, Booker, is described as a “young Donald Glover type.” He’s gullible, innocent, and “an unapologetic mama’s boy.” Unlike his fearless older sister, Booker isn’t the type to take risks. When and if he realizes he’s in over his head, he will stand up for himself.
Raven-Symoné, 30, is set to vacate her co-hosting duties at The View to focus on the That’s So Raven spinoff. Not only is she reprising her role as Raven Baxter on the spinoff, she will also serve as the show’s executive producer. “We now have our eyes on the future with her, and we’re looking forward to telling more stories for a new generation with an adult Raven Baxter raising her young family,” Disney Channel’s Worldwide executive vice president of original programming Adam Bonnett said in a statement. The That’s So Raven spinoff is set to premiere in 2017.
