Lovebirds Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani know better than to start any fights by talking politics during this heated presidential election. HollywoodLife.com has EXCLUSIVELY learned what they’re doing to avoid any nasty arguments about Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton.
“One thing that is making Blake and Gwen‘s relationship strong is not to talk about the election to each other. They are monitoring it on their own terms, but not bringing it up to each other on who and what they are voting for because they don’t want to possibly have different voting views that would start an argument,” a source tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY. Wow, that’s got to be SO hard to keep private, especially as controversial and heated this presidential race has been. But these two definitely know what works best for their relationship, after just crossing the one year mark together.
“They feel that keeping the election out of their relationship is for the best,” our insider adds. So true, because so many of us know couples who are arguing constantly because one person is voting for Donald Trump, 70, and the other is voting for Hillary Clinton, 68. Both sides are so passionate that it’s just causing nothing but problems and arguments, so Blake and Gwen are smart about keeping politics out of their love life. Especially if they are on opposing sides.
The Blakester had originally been thought by some to be a Donald supporter when he told Billboard magazine back in July that, “Whether you love him or hate him, he says what he thinks, and he has proven that you don’t have to be so afraid.” Even actress Debra Messing, 48, lost it and publicly asked Gwen via Twitter “Omg. How? @gwenstefani please talk to your man to not vote for the person who will STRIP you of your rights.” Blake politely responded that he’s staying neutral, didn’t endorse Donald and doesn’t talk politics. Gwen never responded to Deb’s freak out, so these two really do seem to keep their election views locked down.
