It’s time to make history! Hillary Clinton, Donald Trump, and their supporters came out on November 8 to celebrate as they anticipate the results of Election 2016. Click through for all the pics!
No matter who wins on, November 8, 2016, will go down as the most fascinating, volatile election in United States history. For many, if not all Americans, this is the most important election of a lifetime, deciding whether former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, 69, or businessman/reality star Donald Trump, 70, becomes president. What to do until then? Well, party of course!
It’s been nearly two years of campaigning, strategizing, hoping and praying for both candidates, and it’s all led up to this very night. For voters, the most exciting part of the night was really casting their ballots. Despite long, winding lines and crowded venues, millions of Americans headed to their local polling stations and exercised their rights to vote. There’s nothing more satisfying that scanning your ballot and putting on that “I Voted” sticker!
For the candidates, this is a bittersweet day. On one hand, it’s incredibly nerve-wracking. This is the make-or-break night, the moment they finally find out whether or not they become commander in chief, or fade back into oblivion (We know what at least one candidate won’t go quietly, though). But it’s also the culmination of two years of excruciating work, and it’ll finally be over. Why not celebrate a little with fans, family, voters and celebrities?
Hillary and Trump both have their election night headquarters located in New York City (awkward), kind of like when the popular girls in high school have their Sweet Sixteens on the same night. Hillary’s shindig was at the Javits Center, the massive convention center in Hells Kitchen, where they hold New York Comic Con every year. It was an affair to remember.
Trump’s party was at the ritzy Hilton hotel on 6th Avenue in Midtown Manhattan, located just blocks away from both the Trump Tower and Fox News headquarters. Fitting! The Trump Tower is currently blocked off with dumpsters so that protesters don’t vandalize the building. No matter how you feel about the candidate, you can’t help but admit that the man throws a good party!
