Some of our favorite celebs turned up at the Beverly Hilton Hotel for the 20th annual Hollywood Film Awards. And they brought along some great beauty inspo as well. From Anna Kendrick‘s knotted ponytail to Lily Collins‘ burgundy smokey eye makeup, we’re breaking down all our faves from the night.
While long, sleek locks and volumized curls seemed to be the beauty theme at the Hollywood Film Awards, Anna brought her own twist to the red carpet by wearing her hair pulled back. Adding modern details to the classic center-parted low ponytail, Craig Gangi split Anna’s pony into two, twisting hair around each elastic for a double ponytail look. For her makeup, Vanessa Scali kept things simple with clean skin and a burgundy stained lip.
Bringing a bolder take on fall’s burgundy color was Lily, who wore the rich shade on her lips and eyes. Makeup artist Molly R. Stern used Lancome products on the cosmetics brand’s spokesmodel to create a deep burgundy smokey eye with volumized black lashes. For her lip, Molly first lined and filled Lily’s lips with Lancome Le Lipstique Lip Pencil in Sheer Chocolate before applying L’Absolu Rouge in 359 Hypnotique over top. Meanwhile, Mara Roszak styled Lily’s dark bob into Old Hollywood waves that were parted off to the side for an elegant finish.
Also rocking Old Hollywood waves was Natalie Portman, who paired her volumized curls with classic cat eyeliner and a sheer pink lip. Singer Janelle Monae proved short-haired girls can wear classic curls as well, pairing her glam hairstyle with full lashes and a bold orange-red lip.
Going for a lighter look was Kate Hudson. Hairstylist David Babaii styled her nearly waist-length blonde locks completely straight and parted down the middle before tucking her hair behind her ears. For her makeup, Debra Ferullo concentrated on glowing skin, shimmering taupe eyeshadow and a glossy nude lip.
