Who else is so excited to see this? On Nov. 6, ‘Family Guy’ went there — to the iconic scene in ‘Saved by the Bell’ that will forever be GIF’d. Watch the spoof, that yes, Mark-Paul Gosselaar actually lent his voice to as Zack Morris.
In this week’s Family Guy, Chris worked on winning a date with Taylor Swift — and Stewie was really freaking excited about it when he found out she’d be coming to their house. “I haven’t been this excited since I abuse those caffeine pills to get ready for the big show,” he said to Rupert.
With that, the flashback begins with Stewie playing the iconic role of Jessie Spano (AKA Elizabeth Berkley). “Everything will be fine, as long as I take one of these,” Stewie said to Zack — and yes, we were very excited to hear that it was Mark-Paul Gosselaar himself voicing his famous role. In case you forgot, the episode was “Jessie’s Song,” when the girls were supposed to sing in a contest and she got so stressed she became addicted to caffeine pills. Luckily, Zack helped her out.
“It was one of those times when we were like, ‘Do you think Mark-Paul Gosselaar would play [Zack]? Let’s try,” executive producer Richard Appel told our sister publication, TVLine. “And he did it quite enthusiastically.” Well that is very true.
In case you missed the episode, TVLine also has the video featured on their site, and trust me — if you were a Saved by the Bell fan, it’s worth watching — and you’ll be really excited. HollywoodLifers, did you love the episode? Were you impressed with the MPG voice over work? Let us know!
