We’re still freaking out that ‘Pretty Little Liars’ has almost come to an end, and showrunner Marlene King is totally making things worse! Marlene posted a teaser from the series finale on Instagram, and we’re dying to know what it means!
Excuse us while we go curl up in a ball somewhere and cry a little. Pretty Little Liars showrunner Marlene King posted the most cryptic pic from the set of show’s finale, showing Ali’s classroom. What does it all mean? “Last pic I took of Ezra’s then Ali’s classroom. Epic light courtesy of @larryreibman. #prettylittleliars #pllseriesfinale #pllforever,” Marlene captioned the pic, which simply shows a chalkboard inscribed with a Shel Silverstein quote:
“There are no happy endings. Endings are the saddest part. So just give me a happy middle and a very happy start.” Um, so that sounds like we’re going to need boxes of tissues at the ready when we queue up the series finale! That, and someone to hold hands with while we watch our favorite show end after seven seasons!
This isn’t the first teaser Marlene has dropped from the series finale. The showrunner tweeted out lines from the final episode on September 23, and they included some major spoilers. For one thing, she revealed that Toby is alive! He didn’t die in that horrific car crash after all, we guess.
She shared another line spoken by an unnamed character, that implies they’re about to get married: “If you don’t stop looking at me like that, I’m never going to be able to say my without the ugly cry.” Could the couple be Ezra and Aria? While PLL has stopped filming, season 7 doesn’t premiere until April 2017. We’ll just be sitting here, counting down the days until we can finally see where this crazy journey takes us!
