Country music fans weren’t completely welcoming to Beyonce at the 2016 CMA Awards…and Taylor Swift feels SO terrible about it. The ladies didn’t have a chance to meet up at the show, but HollywoodLife.com has the EXCLUSIVE scoop on Tay’s reaction to Bey’s haters.
Beyonce, 34, absolutely rocked the CMAs stage when she performed “Daddy Lessons” with the Dixie Chicks on Nov. 2, but sadly, she’s gotten a bit of hate online for performing at a country music awards show. Obviously, Taylor Swift, 26, is no stranger to getting some criticism from the Nashville crowd — after all, she did ditch country to make an all pop album — and we’re hearing that she really feels for Bey over the drama.
“She feels bad that they bot hare getting negative reactions over their performance,” an insider tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY. “She thinks it is sick and disgusting. Taylor knows full well what people can be like online and is hoping that they can all get through it without letting it really effect them.”
Taylor was seemingly welcomed back to the CMAs with open arms this year, though, when she showed up to celebrate the show’s 50th anniversary and present Entertainer of the Year to Garth Brooks. Meanwhile, the Dixie Chicks publicly took to Twitter to totally slam the critics and stand up for Bey against the hate.
Meanwhile, the 34-year-old clearly isn’t let it get to her. She was more confident than ever on that stage, and following the show, she released a full audio version of “Daddy Lessons” and even a video on Nov. 4. Chances are she isn’t going to go full-on country, but we’re totally feeling this bit of a crossover!
HollywoodLifers, what do you think of the backlash over Beyonce’s CMAs performance? Do you think she’ll go country?
