Little Mix just can’t stop singing about their nasty ex-boyfriends, and it seems like we may have learned a little bit more about Perrie Edwards’ split with Zayn Malik on Nov. 4 with their new single “F.U.” Listen for yourself, right here!
Jeez Zayn Malik, 23, you really gave Perrie Edwards, 23, a lot of material to work with when you broke off your engagement with her! The songstress and her band Little Mix just released another song off their new album Glory Days, and SURPRISE! It’s about crappy ex-boyfriends.
“All damn night I was here waiting, Cooked your favorite, dressed up real nice, I know you were with her, I know that you kissed her,” sings Perrie in “F.U.” Ouch! We can’t help but wonder if that line was inspired by her split with the boybander in 2015. And it gets worse. “You cheatin’, you lyin’, I know that you’re hiding two cellphones.” Oh no! The song is about how girls keep taking back bad guys because they’re so good at sweet talking and convincing us not to leave them. Boy, can we relate! And we actually love the slow, retro vibe of the new hit.
It seems like a lot of the songs off of Glory Days are inspired by the girls’ past dating indiscretions. “Shout Out To My Ex” was full of direct shade toward Zayn with lyrics like “this is a shout out to my ex, heard he in love with some other chick, yeah yeah, that hurt me, I’ll admit, forget that boy, I’m over it.” Yikes! And to dig the knife a little deeper, the music video featured a Zayn lookalike who the band leaves in the dust on the side of the road. Good for you, girl!
