With seven concerts in just ten days, things finally caught up with Kanye West. The rapper shocked fans by ending his concert out of nowhere and walking offstage mid-show in Inglewood on Nov. 3. But what happened to cause this abrupt cancellation? Watch here!
Unfortunately, performing so much lately took a toll on Kanye West’s voice, and he was too hoarse to even finish singing during his final show of six at The Forum. While he was on a platform floating above the excited crowd, he stopped the music, and revealed that he had to end things early.
“I’m so hoarse, I can’t finish the show,” he told the disappointed audience. “I gotta catch up with y’all at another time. I can’t let y’all have a show where I can’t perform.” It was pretty awkward after that, as he had to just stand there and face the booing crowd while the platform was brought back to the main stage.
“I’m very sorry,” he said before walking off. “I love you. I promise I’ll do better next time.” He also reportedly offered his loyal fans a refund, and will hopefully be able to reschedule the date sometime soon.
Luckily, ‘Ye isn’t due to perform again until Nov. 17 in San Jose, so he has two weeks to rest his voice. He’ll be going non-stop from then until the end of the year, though, with his Saint Pablo tour ending on Dec. 31 in Brooklyn.
Last time Kanye had to cut a concert short it was at the beginning of October in New York City, when he walked off to deal with a “family emergency.” Of course, we later found out the crisis was that his wife, Kim Kardashian, 36, had been robbed at gunpoint in Paris, so this situation in Inglewood was clearly a LOT less dramatic.
HollywoodLifers, what do you think of Kanye cutting his concert short? Do you think he should’ve stuck it out?
