Every heart in Cleveland was breaking after watching the Indians lose to the Chicago Cubs in the World Series. However, C-Land’s favorite son, LeBron James, had some warm words for Cleveland, telling them to be proud of what they’ve done! Click to watch.
“I just want to congratulate the [Cleveland] Indians on an unbelievable season,” LeBron, 31, said in a video following the end of the 2016 World Series, according to For The Win. “You guys did something that nobody would ever think you guys could do and we’re very proud of you. The whole [Cleveland Cavaliers] organization, all the fans, the whole city of Cleveland – we’re all proud of you guys.”
“You guys got nothing to hang your heads low about,” LeBron added in his heartfelt message to the losing side. “Use this as inspiration to get ready for next year.” King James then showed how much of a class act he can be, congratulating the Chicago Cubs on ending their 108-year-long World Series drought. The NBA champ then ended his message, telling the Indians that he was “looking forward to seeing you guys back out there next year.”
If there’s anyone in Cleveland who knows how much it hurts to get to the big game, only to lose it in the last minute, it’s LeBron. Remember, this was the man who led the Cavaliers to the 2015 NBA Finals against Steph Curry, 28, and the Golden State Warriors.
That year, the Dubs were too much for the Cavs and LeBron. They lost in 6 games. The two teams met in the finals the next year. Much like the Chicago Cubs, the Cavs overcame a 3-1 deficit to win the Best-of-Seven series. So, when LeBron talks about using defeat as an “inspiration,” he knows what he’s talking about.
Does this mean the party LeBron and his wife, Savannah James, 30, were planning to throw is cancelled? The First Couple of Cleveland wanted to throw a “massive celebration” if Cleveland won the World Series, a source EXCLUSIVELY told HollywoodLife.com. Maybe they can store the party supplies until next year?
What do you think about LeBron’s message to the Cleveland Indians, HollywoodLifers? Do you think they’ll make it back to the World Series next year?
