It’s been an amazing year for Thomas Rhett, and he got to celebrate his success with an epic performance at the 2016 CMA Awards. The hot new star had us swooning when he took the stage to sing Die A Happy Man,’ and we’re still thinking about how great it was!
Seeing Thomas Rhett, 26, perform “Die A Happy Man” never gets old! He was at it once again at the 2016 CMA Awards on Nov. 2, getting the crowd on their feet as he gave yet another swoonworthy rendition of the song he wrote for his wife, Lauren Gregory. Oh, and of course, he looked HOT while he serenaded the crowd.
It’s a big night for Thomas at the CMAs, too — not only was he a performer at the show, but he was also up for two awards: Song of the Year and Single of the Year, both for “Die A Happy Man.” He actually took home Single of the Year at the very beginning of the show, and was practically in tears as he accepted! Last year, he was simply a New Artist nominee at the show, so it’s obvious he’s come a long way since then. In fact, at the 2015 ceremony, “Die A Happy Man” had just become a hit!
Since then, TR went on to win Single of the Year at the ACM Awards in April and Male Video of the Year at the CMT Awards in June. Meanwhile, Thomas also found success with follow-up hits like “T-Shirt,” “Vacation,” and his most recent, “Star of the Show,” so things aren’t slowing down anytime soon.
The 26-year-old just wrapped up his months-long tour with Jason Aldean, and will embark on a headlining tour next year. He also just released a special deluxe version of his 2015 album, Tangled Up, and is clearly riding the high of his success the best way he can. We can’t wait to see what Thomas does next!
