The god and goddess of country music have finally spoken! Elle King and Dierks Bentley performed a live version of ‘Different For Girls’ at the CMAs on Nov. 2, and delivered a show worthy of endless praise! Read all about their concert, right here.
Ever since Dierks Bentley, 40, and Elle King, 27, made their TV duet debut in June, we’ve been eagerly waiting to see another knockout show from them! Our prayers were finally answered at the CMAs on Nov. 2, as the country duo rocked the stage with a live performance of “Different For Girls” — their first track as joint artists. It’s that very same tune that has Dierks and Elle nominated for “Vocal Event Of The Year!” Elle rocked a yellow and red fringe dress, and Dierks was giving off major bad boy vibes in a leather jacket.
As much as we love to hear Dierks’ sexy voice behind the microphone, the country crooner hasn’t always been praised for his live performances. Of course we’re talking about that unfortunate NFL kickoff incident in Sept., during which fans slammed Dierks for lip syncing. The showdown happened right before the Denver Broncos faced off against the Carolina Panthers, and because football fans were so eager to get the game going, they completely bashed Dierks’ show. People took to Twitter to share their frustrations by calling Dierks’ performance of “Freedom” a “karaoke” show. Ouch!
Meanwhile, the reception of Elle’s “Ex’s and Oh’s” single has been mostly positive! The country cutie performed “Ex’s and Oh’s” during a taping of Dancing With The Stars in Nov., and fans went completely nuts! Also, did you know that she’s Rob Schneider‘s daughter? We love her so much more now knowing she’s got more than one funny bone in her body. Maybe one day she’ll take up a career in comedy!
