This is so sad! Michael Douglas claims that his friend Val Kilmer is tragically battling oral cancer, and the prognosis is allegedly not good. Michael is terribly worried about his old pal, despite the fact that Val has denied in the past that’s he’s sick.
Michael Douglas, 72, attended a Q&A event in London on October 30, and revealed the terrible news to host Jonathan Ross. Michael was asked a question about his 1996 film The Ghost and the Darkness, in which he co-starred with Val Kilmer, now 56. While joking about the quality of the film, he also told the audience and Jonathan about Val’s alleged oral cancer battle, and how sad he felt for his old friend.
“The picture didn’t turn out as well as I hoped but I had a wonderful time,” Michael said. “Val was a wonderful guy who is dealing with exactly what I had (oral cancer), and things don’t look too good for him. My prayers are with him. That’s why you haven’t heard too much from Val lately.”
This is awful! Val was spotted in October 2015 wearing what looked like a breathing aid on his neck, and frequently covered up his neck with scarves and bandanas as well. Fans were majorly concerned when they saw this, and also when he was spotted leaving the UCLA medical center. He denied on social media that he was sick, but admitted that he had been ill in the past:
“Thank you all for your love and support. There’s a rumor I’m unwell again and in hospital which is totally untrue. I was in to verify I have no tumor or infection of any kind which was verified by the very caring experts at UCLA,” he wrote on Facebook at the time.
If there’s anyone who can understand what Val is allegedly going through, it’s Michael. The Ant-Man star beat stage 4 oral cancer in 2013 after a long and painful battle. He announced he was suffering from the terrifying disease on The Late Show with David Letterman back in 2010, and shockingly claimed that the condition was the result of contracting HPV from performing cunnilingus on his wife, Catherine Zeta-Jones. Talk about embarrassing, especially because medical professionals said at the time that that was absolutely NOT true. Omg!
Thankfully, Val was spotted in London in early 2016 without a bandana or breathing aid around his neck. We hope this means he’s well!
