Neil Patrick Harris & his adorable fam have done it again! Every year we look forward to seeing what the actor, his hubby, and their 6-year-old twins will wear for Halloween, and this year’s themed costumes did not disappoint! Continuing their tradition, the family-of-4 dressed up as classic Hollywood icons, and TOTALLY killed it like always!
Neil Patrick Harris, 43, and his family proved once and for all on Oct. 31 that they’re the REAL winners of Halloween — again! Each year, the actor, David Burtka, 41, and their kids Harper and Gideon, 6, go all out on their costumes, always picking a matching theme and posing for an adorable pic. This year was no different as the fam chose to dress up as old Hollywood figures — from Marilyn Monroe to James Dean!
“📽🎞Hooray for Halloween!🎞📽 #Marilyn #Groucho #Chaplin #JamesDean,” Neil captioned the pic of his family, which shows the four of them posing inside a glamorous, old-fashioned theater. His hubby sported a Charlie Chaplin costume while Neil himself dressed up as Groucho Marx, an actor from the 1930s. But it was their twins who completely stole the show — like usual! Trick Or Treat! Here Are The 13 Best Halloween Movies To Watch Tonight
Little Harper was decked out like Marilyn from her 1953 film Gentleman Prefer Blondes, even wearing a blonde wig, a hot pink satin gown, and bold red lips! SO precious. Her brother Gideon looked like the original “rebel without a cause,” James Dean’s, mini me in a red hoodie, white crew neck, and blue jeans. We seriously cannot get enough of this adorable foursome!
Even better, Neil recently opened up about just how “seriously” his fam takes Halloween in an interview with Seth Meyers last month. “[Gideon and Harper] are starting to have more of an opinion. It’s a little bit annoying,” he revealed to the late night host. “I’m trying to do Jedi mind tricks on them, like, ‘Hey, look at that, that’s a cool idea.'”
He also added that he was slightly concerned about what they wanted to wear to school as well, as Harper wanted to dress as a “goth whore” from Monster High, while his little boy was set on an R2-D2 costume, which would have been a bit impractical. Last year the clan did dress as Star Wars characters though and posed together as Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Princess Leila, and Obi-Wan Kenobi.
In Halloweens past, the Burtka-Harris fam has also dressed as characters from Peter Pan, the Universal Monsters universe, Alice in Wonderland, and Batman. And they totally crush it every year!
Tell us, HollywoodLifers — do you love the Burtka-Harris’ Halloween costumes this year? Do you think it’s their best theme yet?
