Okay England, are you getting our love of football yet? The NFL is sending two teams across the pond yet again, and this time its the Washington Redskins and Cincinnati Bengals who have the honors. We’ve got your way to watch the game via live stream from London Oct. 30!
It’s going to be a big day for the Cincinnati Bengals, as the team is making their debut performance outside the U.S. with the NFL’s International Series. They square off in London’s iconic Wembley stadium against the Washington Redskins, who haven’t played abroad since 1992. Unfortunately for our British fans, the teams have turned out to both have pretty mediocre seasons so far, so hopefully they’ll be able to put on a good show as the game kicks off at 9:30AM EST on Oct. 30. Cincy is a much better team than their 3-4 record shows, dropping two road losses to powerful Dallas and New England squads before finally getting a home win against the lowly Cleveland Browns. After their London game, they get a much needed bye week to regroup and get things on track to ensure a winning season. The Redskins are sitting at 4-3 and looking for another win to help put them closer to eventual playoff contention.
No one is more thrilled about this game then Redskins head coach Jay Gruden, who is facing his former team for the very first time. As the Bengals former offensive coordinator, he knows the players and the what to look for. “I’m excited, man. I mean, I can’t wait. Really, it sounds funny, it’s such a big game for us, really. I really don’t care where we play them. I just can’t wait to play the game. We’ve got to get this taste out of our mouth and get ready to strap it up and play against a team that’s been in the playoffs five years in a row that I know extremely well. It’s going to be fun to play against them, no matter where it is, when it is. We look forward to the challenge.”
