And so the Meek Mill vs. Drake plot thickens! Meek finally dropped his ‘DC4’ album, and even recruited Drake’s other nemesis Tory Lanez to take the rapper down on a supposed new diss track. Listen here!
This feud just keeps getting better and better! Meek Mill, finally released his highly-anticipated Dreamchasers 4 (DC4) project on Oct. 28, and only three songs into the album, the Philly rapper seemed to be taking shots at his foe Drake with the jam “Litty.” And with an assist from Tory Lanez, the song definitely packs a mean punch!
Meek leads the hip-hop record with rapid fire rhymes, dissing all those haters that are “broke.” But the real diss appears to come during Tory Lanez’s verse, in which he subliminally takes a shot at Drake. “They be making memes, I be making millions / I just counted up a Quentin Miller / A Q.M, that’s a quarter milli,” Tory sings. Yikes! Of course, Tory didn’t actually say the Canadian rapper’s name, but this definitely sounds like he was throwing shade!
You see, Tory referenced Quentin Miller, who Meek cited as Drake’s alleged ghostwriter on a number of his popular hits over the years. In fact, this accusation practically started Drake and Meek’s whole feud in the first place, so it sounds like Tory was trying to revive the original thought that Drake doesn’t write his own lyrics!
Although Tory’s one-liner is pretty subtle, we can’t help but think that it’s a diss alone that the Toronto native collaborated with Meek in to begin with. Besides, Tory isn’t a fan of Drake’s either! After Drake supposedly took a shot at Tory in his “Summer Sixteen” song — in which he says, “All you boys in the new Toronto want to be me a little,” (Tory’s previous mixtape was entitled The New Toronto) — Tory has fired back at Drake in a number of his songs, including “Blow” and “Round Here.” While Drake probably got the message on previous diss records, teaming up with Meek definitely seems like the nail on the coffin. Assuming that Drake takes offense to the new track, we can’t wait to see if he fires back on a song of his own!
HollywoodLifers, what do you think? Is Meek Mill’s “Litty” definitely taking shots at Drake?
