For the most part, this week dove into the drama behind draft day, and how you absolutely have to know your place. However, we also got an insight to just how serious Mike and Amelia’s romance was.
Draft day is here — and while Ginny is safe, she’s super worried about Blip’s future; she can’t have him leaving, as his family is the only family she has in town. So, she does everything she possibly can to keep him there, including talking to GM Oscar. She basically told him, after speaking to Amelia’s advice, that she was the reason they were selling tickets, so he should listen to her. Not the smartest move for her. Luckily, Blip was safe — however, Ginny’s new friend Tommy, was not.
We also got an insight into why Ginny was so worried about Blip and his family leaving; when she was younger, she became best friends with a ball player whose father was an alcoholic who never came to the games. After his dad promised to come to the championship game and didn’t show up, Ginny’s dad called him and left a voicemail to tell him how sad it was he couldn’t see his son play.
Following the game, his dad woke up from being passed out drunk, listened to the voicemail, and drove to the field. However, he didn’t make it there — on the way, he hit Ginny and her father. Yes, he was the reason her dad was killed. And her best friend then moved away.
Meanwhile, Mike and Amelia’s relationship took a step forward after he accidentally-on-purpose called her a “groupy,” making her reiterate that she was in fact an independent woman who literally did not need him whatsoever. Luckily for him, she decided to take him back after he made some nice gestures. They also agreed to finally tell Ginny, which Amelia did before Mike. She said it was fine, but we all can read her face.
Do you think Amelia and Mike will make it work?
