SO terrifying! Republican vice presidential candidate Mike Pence’s plane was involved in a scary accident at New York’s LaGuardia Airport Oct. 27. His jet went skidding off the runway upon landing in rainy conditions, so keep reading for how the Indiana governor doing after the close call.
Talk about unintended presidential election drama! Donald Trump’s running mate Mike Pence had the scare of a lifetime when his plane made a really rough landing at LaGuardia Airport. It skidded off the runway, fishtailing and causing damage to the runway, but the Republican vice presidential candidate assured reporters that he was okay afterwards and that no one aboard the plane was injured. He even took the time to shake the hands of first responders, personally thanking them despite the torrential downpour.

Mike and the other passengers on the plane were evacuated by firefighters out of the back of the aircraft, and he even went to check on all of those traveling with him to make sure they were okay after the scare. CNN producer Elizabeth Landers was aboard the jet and called in about the experience, saying that “We could feel the plane moving and it was not a natural landing you’d experience.” She also said there had been turbulence as they were approaching the airport in rainy conditions.

She was on the phone live with the network as she exited the aircraft and her voice turned to sudden shock as she got outside and saw the full extent of the near-disaster. Elizabeth said there was visible damage to the runway where the plane’s tires had left large divots on the tarmac. Others on the plane said they smelled burning rubber as the jet touched down.

Earlier in the day before heading to the Big Apple, Mike posted a pic of himself playing football on an airport field in Iowa in front of the Trump/Pence plane safe on a sunny runway. Man what a difference a few hours make!
