Kevin Hart, 37, is in negotiations to start in Disney’s Dashing Through the Snow, a family Christmas comedy, as our sister site Variety confirms. Finally Hollywood is moving past the stereotype that assumes Santa must be the size of an adult man.https://t.co/HyhPX8b0s9

The movie takes place in New York City, and follows a workaholic detective and his son who (spoiler alert) don’t get along. Their strained relationship can only be saved by — who else? — Santa Claus. Yep, Kevin Hart will swoop in and repair their love by making the dad believe in Christmas magic. As Santa does.
Despite sounding a lot like parts of the movie Elf, Dashing Through the Snow is based on an original idea by Scott Rosenberg, as Variety reports, and Rob Burnett is writing the script. Producers Will Packer, who has worked with Kevin on the Ride Along movies, and John Jacobs (Ted) have also signed on, though there is no director yet.
Kevin’s one busy guy. The Untitled Kevin Hart Stand-Up Project is currently in production, as is Ride Along 3. Season 5 of the comedy show Real Husbands of Hollywood will also return in 2017. Doesn’t leave Kevin a ton of time to film what’s sure to be a blockbuster holiday film, but we know he’ll fit it in his busy schedule!
