This is so exciting! Amber Tamblyn announced on Oct. 26 that she’s pregnant with her first child, and she made the revelation while opening up about her heartbreaking sexual assault story in a lengthy magazine article.
Amber Tamblyn, 33, and Arrested Development star David Cross, 52, are going to be parents! Just two weeks after the actress opened up about being sexually assaulted at a club, she’s decided to go into more detail about the traumatizing experience…and subtly referenced her pregnancy in the essay.
“Motherhood has been heavily on my mind because I am going to be a mother soon,” Amber wrote in Glamour. “I’m pregnant, with a daughter on the way. I think constantly about the world I am bringing her into. Will I get a phone call from my daughter someday, one she never wanted to make?”
Amber’s decision to come forward with the tale of how an ex grabbed her inappropriately comes amidst the recent sexual assault allegations against Donald Trump, 70, and in her Glamour piece, she recalls hearing a similar story from her own mother. In that instance, though, her grandmother simply told her mom, ‘boys will be boys,’ a piece of wisdom the actress is obviously not okay with.
“I’ll be voting for a future for my daughter where conversations about our bodies and our lives are broader than what value they have for men,” Amber concluded, voicing her support for Hillary Clinton, 69. “A future where being a mother is less about warning our daughters about our sons and is instead about lifting them up to their greatest potential. A future where my girl will someday say, ‘Donald who?’ and think nothing is revolutionary about a woman becoming President. A future where she can’t even believe that was ever even a thing.” Amen!
