So heartbreaking. Shirlene Quigley, a backup dancer for Beyonce and Rihanna, mysteriously vanished on Oct. 23 after leaving a cryptic message to her friend. We have five things you need to know about this talented woman who’s tragically gone missing, here.
1. She was a backup dancer for Beyonce and performed at many awards shows!
Shirlene Quigley, 32, was featured as one of Beyonce‘s dancers in her 2003 music video for “Crazy In Love.” She’s also performed at some pretty amazing awards shows, like the Grammy’s, VMA’s and ESPY Awards.
2. Rihanna, who also worked with Shirlene, opened up about her disappearance.
Rihanna, 28, shared a touching Instagram post on Oct. 24, praying for Shirlene’s safety. “This beautiful soul, and former dancer of mine is MISSING!!!!” Rihanna, 28, wrote alongside a video of the missing dancer. “My heart aches thinking of how heavy this is on all who love her! If anyone has sen or has any information of @shirlenequigley’s whereabouts…… PLEASE CONTACT the North Bergen Police Department 201 392 2100!!!”
3. Shirlene’s father is the one who reported her missing.
According to NBC News, Shirlene’s dad became concerned when his daughter hadn’t called him at 6PM. He said that that’s the usual time she would call him daily. So horrible.
4. Her phone and car were both discovered in NYC.
Shirlene’s cell phone was found in a bridal store in the Chelsea neighborhood of New York City, according to NBC, and it’s now in the possession of authorities. Meanwhile, her car was found outside of a Hertz rental store in Manhattan and towed, according to Heavy.com.
5. Before she disappeared, Shirlene left a cryptic message for her friend.
Her father told NBC that Shirlene made a bizarre comment to a friend before her disappearance — “get ready, it’s about to happen and I’m going to need you to sub for me.” Wow. We’re just hoping Shirlene turns up safely.
