This is exciting news! Jay Z will be throwing his support behind Hillary Clinton in a BIG way ahead of the 2016 election — he’ll be performing at a concert in Ohio to bring in young, black voters for the candidate, according to a new report. Get the details here!
With just two weeks until the presidential election, Jay Z, 46, is ready to do whatever it takes to urge the youth to vote for Hillary Clinton, 68. The rapper is preparing a sure-to-be epic concert in Ohio with hopes of bringing in young, black voters, a group the Democratic nominee has struggled with throughout her campaign, according to Buzzfeed. A source confirmed to HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY that a concert like this will happen, and we should be expecting an announcement on Oct. 25.
Jay has previously backed Barack Obama, and even performed at a similar event for the President’s re-elect campaign in 2012. The 46-year-old and his wife, Beyonce, 34, endorsed Hillary a while ago, so it’s no surprise that he’d be willing to make such a big statement with a concert like this at the last minute!
Hillary currently only hold a narrow lead against Donald Trump, 70, in the swing state of Ohio, so having an event like this could be crucial for her campaign — especially if she’s able to win over groups of voters that she didn’t always have in her corner.
It’s also rumored that LeBron James, who plays for the Cleveland Cavaliers and recently wrote an op-ed supporting Hillary, might show up to the concert. Meanwhile, Jennifer Lopez is set to perform at a similar event in Miami on Oct. 29.
HollywoodLifers, what do you think of Jay Z performing for Hillary? Do you think it will help her gain young black voters? Or is it too little too late?
