OMG! If you were hoping that Negan would be killed off swiftly after taking one of our precious survivors away from us, think again. Jeffrey Dean Morgan has explained why ‘The Walking Dead’s most ruthless villain is actually here to stay.
Jeffrey Dean Morgan, 50, has dropped a major bomb on The Walking Dead fans: he’s not going anywhere any time soon. In a new interview with Playboy magazine, the veteran actor explains that his villainous character, Negan, has a nice, long future alongside Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and the gang.
“Yeah, I’ll be around for a little while,” Jeffrey shared when asked if he would still be a part of the show after the seventh season. “If we keep going at this rate, and if they follow the comic book, that could be three or four seasons,” he added, reminding fans that Negan continues to appear in up to 50 more issues of the comics after his first appearance.
On top of that, Jeffrey said he wants to be 70 years old and still attending comic-cons for The Walking Dead. “The ones who enjoy the work are the ones who go to the conventions, and it’s important to interact with fans,” he explained, also adding that meeting fans who can relate to his work or used it as a distraction from an illness or tragedy can be the most “emotional.” So sweet!
Alright Jeffrey, you can stick around if you keep up all that sweet talk about the fans! Just promise not to kill anyone else on the show, okay? Make sure you tune in to the October 23 premiere of The Walking Dead to see whose life Negan takes from the group.
