OMG! Garth Brooks granted everyone’s wishes in an interview Oct. 21, when he said, ‘My retirement days are behind me,’ after a long break! The country singer dished major touring news and gushed about his wife, Trisha Yearwood! Could he be coming to a city near you? Watch here!
Garth Brooks, 54, just made dreams come true! After taking a 14-year hiatus, the multi-platinum recording artist told Ellen DeGeneres, 58, Oct. 21, that he’s done with retirement! When he reflected on his incredible sold out shows on The Garth Brooks World Tour with wife, Trisha Yearwood, 52, he said, “I can do this until they throw me out!” Well Garth, that won’t happen, and we’re SO excited!
He gushed over his country singer wife, and said, “It’s smart to bring that woman anywhere,” about having her along on his tour. Referring to their marriage, he revealed, “I don’t know what it is, but every day it gets better…I’m just lucky!” AW! Talk about a match made in heaven!
One of the many reason everyone loves Garth is because he’s always vowed to keep his ticket prices low, and he’s kept up that promise. “It’s not easy to go see somebody you love,” he explained. “You go to some of these places [and] parking is as much as a ticket is. So I can speak on all of us sitting on stage…thank you.”
The amazing entertainer has a new song, “Baby Let’s Lay Down and Dance” from his upcoming album “Gunslinger,” which he will be performing when the full Ellen episode airs Oct. 21 at 3 PM EST.
Garth even tweeted a little team huddle before they performed the song, and if you weren’t sure about his retirement vow, he made another powerful statement. “Here’s to the first of many times we’re going to play this song,” he said to his team right before they went to perform. AH!

Garth was one of music’s most prominent artists when he first announced his retirement in Oct. 2000. He claimed he would retire until his three daughters graduated high school. Although he did play a few shows after his announcement, he remained away from the spotlight. However, he kept to his word and turned to music in 2014. Since then, he’s had major success on The Garth Brooks World Tour, and for the first time ever, he is streaming his music with Amazon! What a great time to be a Garth fan! Here’s a performance of “Friends in Low Places” from his appearance on Ellen to hold you over!
