The final trailer for ‘Rogue One: A Star Wars’ story aired on ‘Good Morning America’ on Oct. 13, and if you thought the others were beautiful, you haven’t seen anything yet. Plus, the nostalgia is coming in loud and clear!
The first of the three stand-alone Star Wars films is about to arrive, and we couldn’t be more excited. Rogue One walks us through how the Rebel Alliance got the Death Star plans — it is set right before Star Wars: A New Hope took place.
Over the best few months, and at conventions, we’ve gotten a great deal of footage including a glimpse at Darth Vadar’s return. However, in this trailer, we finally see Galen Erso (Mads Mikkelsen), the father to Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones). He definitely plays a huge part in the plot line this tme around, and could be the reason the Rebellion learns about what will destroy Alderaan. Ben Medelsohn is the main villain, Orson Krennic, and in the new trailer we actually see him having a conversation with Vader about the power the Death Star has, calling it — wait for it — “immeasurable.”
Director Garth Edwards and Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy recently spoke to ABC News about having Darth back on set, with Kathleen saying he “is probably going to be the one of the key characters that we brought into this story because it leads up to A New Hope, and Vader was such a significant character.” Of course, Gareth was not on set during A New Hope so this was his first time seeing him in action.
“We were in the middle of things and trying lots of things and suddenly, I remember in my schedule later today that there’s a Darth Vader test today and I had forgotten all about it,’ he said. “I just waled out into the set and turned the corner and he just stood their, this silhouette and they even had the sound effect playing just cause everyone couldn’t help themselves.”
Rogue One hits theaters December 16. Let us know what you think about the new trailer below.
