We are still in shock over Dylan Rieder’s death. The renowned skateboarder and model died Oct. 12 at the young age of 28, after a battle with cancer. Just days before his death, he posted a heartwarming photo to Instagram. See the moving snap right here.
Dylan Rieder was just 28 years old when his life tragically ended too soon. He passed after a year-long battle with leukemia Oct. 12, according to The Ride Channel, before he sadly suffered complications from the awful disease. This is devastating.
Just days before his untimely death he posted a tender photo to Instagram of a friend, sitting by a beach under the sun. The bright photo exuded feelings of relaxation and peace, and we hope Dylan was very happy at the time. The photo (seen above) is the last post on his Instagram page before the news of his tragic death. We would like to note that this is not Dylan in the photo, it is his last social media post.
Dylan’s manager shared the following statement on Jenkem Magazine’s Facebook page. “Today, October 12th, 2016, surrounded by family and friends, Dylan Joseph Rieder passed away due to complications with Leukemia. His passion for life, art, music, fashion and skateboarding has always been contagious. Dylan will be remembered by all as a loving son, brother and friend. In lieu of sending flowers, the family requests donations be made in Dylan’s memory to Dr. Stephen Forman.” So sad.
Celebrities have been sending messages of love and support on social media after hearing the disheartening word. Aside from working with a slew of brands during his impressive skateboarding career, Dylan was also a talented model. He starred in DKNY’s Spring 2014 campaign alongside well known models, Cara Delevingne, 24, and Jourdan Dunn, 26. Cara, clearly upset over his death, took to Instagram Oct. 12, to express how much she will “miss” her dear friend. Other stars like, Ryan Sheckler, 26, and Sharon Osbourne, 64, expressed their sadness on social media as well.
Our thoughts are with Dylan’s family and friends during this difficult time.
