There’s a Kim Kardashian robbery costume being sold online for Halloween 2016, and it may even top last year’s Caitlyn Jenner costume as the most distasteful one we’ve ever seen. Check out the photos of the ‘Parisian Heist Robbery Victim Kit’, which features a gag and bathrobe, and tell us — is it over the line?
Yep, the Parisian Heist Robbery Victim Costume Kit is being sold for $69.99 on Costumeish, and we’re downright appalled by the direct reference to Kim Kardashian‘s traumatizing gunpoint robbery in Paris on Oct. 3. The kit includes a “white short sexy robe”, a “long black wig,” a “$4 million dollar ring”, “large sunglasses,” a “fake gag” and “2 feet of rope”. Yikes.
“This Halloween it’s all about the #Hallomeme and who better than America’s goddess of all things glamorous ‘Parisian Heist Robbery Victim Costume?'” the description of the costume reads. “She has devoted her life to promoting American decadence, youth, and hedonism but all that flashy living caught up with her one night in Paris when armed men bound her, stole her jewelry and her peace of mind.”
“This Halloween have some fun with pop culture and dress just like the Queen of Social media with our sensational ‘Parisian Heist Robbery Victim Costume,'” the site adds. Oh, and in case you weren’t sure, the “costume ring is made of plastic and not worth $4 million dollars”. The description doesn’t refer to Kim by name, but it’s beyond obvious.
This costume is problematic for multiple reasons, the least of which is that it includes a gag. Even if you don’t sympathize with Kim K, this costume taunts any woman who has experienced physical or sexual assault. We are not fans.
