What happens when you go behind President Kirkman’s back? Well, he is not happy. In this week’s episode, General Cochrane makes a huge decision that goes against Tom’s wishes, and it is not a good move. Watch the exclusive look right here.
“Is it true that you gave the order to take the Algerian air defenses offline?” President Kirkman (Kiefer Sutherland) asks General Cochrane (Kevin McNally) on the Oct. 12 episode of Designated Survivor. After the genereal confirms that he also set a glide path through Algerian air space , the president looses it, informing him that Algeria is their ally and he pretty much just declared war have he instructed him to wait 12 hours.
“You tried diplomacy — it failed. And now you’re risking the entire country to protect one person? I did what needed to be done,” Cochrane says to his president. And of course, he has the perfect response. “Well General, one day if you become president, you can make that call. But as long as I am and one of our own is unaccounted for, we do nothing that will jeopardize their safety any further.”
However, the general does not let it go there and uses a snake analogy to try to get through to the president. We have a feeling this won’t go well. Designated Survivor airs on ABC on Wednesday, October 12 at 10PM ET.
