After the second presidential debate we were super confused by a lot of things, but sure about one — Ken Bone is an American hero. Why? The debate audience member totally stole the show! Get the full scoop on the viral sensation that’s sweeping the nation; the one, the only, Ken Bone!
We first learned of the national treasure that is Ken Bone on Oct. 9 during the second presidential debate, and since meeting him, America has hardly been able to focus on anything else. Ken was there as one of the audience members at the town hall-style debate, who were all screened by Gallup and selected by the night’s moderators to ask nominees Hillary Clinton, 68, and Donald Trump, 70, questions. And for a multitude of reasons, Ken is now America’s darling. Learn everything you need to know about Ken, right here!
1. He is concerned about the environment.
Ken asked Hillary and Donald a hard hitting question about how they would meet our energy needs while keeping the environment’s needs in mind too! “What steps will your energy policy take to meet our energy needs while at the same time remaining environmentally friendly and minimizing job layoffs?” Whoa. Nice one there Ken.
2. He looks great in red.
He wore a super snazzy red cardigan to the debate and looked extra sharp when he asked his question. We all wish we looked as cool as Ken does in his red sweater.
3. He’s still an undecided voter.
“I know people hate to hear this, but I think I might be more undecided than ever,” he told CNN. Apparently, Ken is leaning toward Donald, but admits he is impressed with Hillary’s composure. “I’m really glad that so much attention has come my way, if for no other reason than I can get the message out that your voice can be heard, and please get out and vote in November. If you feel like your vote doesn’t matter, it does. Make your voice heard.” Great advice, Ken!
4. His son (and the internet) thinks he’s cool now.
“I went from, last night, having seven Twitter followers, two of which were my grandmother…to now, I have several hundred,” Ken told CNN. “And I don’t know why they care what I have to say, but I’m glad they’re engaged in the political process.” Ken said that the fame is also pretty sweet because now his 12-year-old son thinks he’s super cool. Well, of course he does.
5. He loves disposable cameras.
After the debate, Ken whipped out A DISPOSABLE CAMERA, and took some shots of the town hall-style debate set. And while Ken may think he needs to develop those photos to remember the evening, we’re pretty sure America will remember Ken forever.
