Donald Trump just got dissed big time by Speaker Paul Ryan. Ryan is done with defending and campaigning for the GOP candidate, he confirmed on Oct. 10. And, without fail, Trump fired back with a major diss of his own!
Paul Ryan isn’t going to be on the campaign trail with Donald Trump, 70, any longer. After hearing the horribly offensive comments Trump made about Nancy O’Dell and women in general on leaked audio tapes from 2005, he’s told fellow Republicans that he will no longer defend Donald in the presidential race. Instead, he plans to spend his time defending the Republican House majority, the paper claims.
However, Paul hasn’t withdrawn his endorsement of the candidate or publicly said that he won’t vote for him , but he’ll simply be focusing his campaign efforts on GOP congressional candidates. The Post reports that the House speaker is calling a meeting with GOP lawmakers who are worried that their chances of re-election are being ruined by the presidential candidate representing their party, therefore threatening their majority in the House of Representatives.
“Paul Ryan should spend more time on balancing the budget, jobs and illegal immigration,” Donald tweeted in response. “And not waste his time on fighting Republican nominee.”
The relationship between Paul and Donald has been rocky since the businessman became the Republican nominee earlier this year. In fact, Paul was originally hesitant to even endorse Trump at all, and his official show of support didn’t come until June, after the two men held a private meeting and acknowledged their many political differences.
However, after he heard Trump’s disgusting, slut-shaming comments on those leaked audio tapes, which came out on Oct. 7, Paul said he was “sickened.” “I hope Mr. Trump treats this situation with the seriousness it deserves and works to demonstrate to the country that he has greater respect for women than this clip suggests,” he concluded. Donald claims he has the utmost respect for woman, but he clearly hasn’t shown that in any way.
HollywoodLifers, are you surprised that Paul Ryan isn’t going to defend Trump anymore? Do you think he should also drop his endorsement of the GOP candidate?
