It’s that time of year again! ‘ELLE’s’ 23rd annual November Women in Hollywood issue is finally here and some of our favorite celebrities have graced the cover! From Kristen Stewart to Anna Kendrick, the issue honors eight female actresses that have amazing talents both on and off the screen. We are obsessed with all of the covers and we can’t decide which one was our fave — what do you guys think? VOTE.
The November issue celebrates talented women who shine on and off the screen and there are eight different covers featuring: Kristen Stewart, 26, Lupita Nyong’o, 33, Amy Adams, 42, Anna Kendrick, 31, Aja Naomi King, 31, Felicity Jones, 32, Kathy Bates, 68, and Helen Mirren, 71.
Robbie Myers, ELLE’s Editor In Chief, wrote in her editor’s letter, that these eight actresses are “invigorating, reshaping, and entirely reimagining what women look like on and off screen.”
Not only do these amazing women grace the covers of the mag, they will also be honored at the 23rd annual ELLE Women in Hollywood Awards hosted by Robbie Myers, with presenting sponsors L’Oréal Paris and Hearts On Fire, and supporting sponsor Calvin Klein Collection, “to celebrate the impact and creative contributions they have made to the world of film.”
Anna shared the gratitude she feels about her career, “Sometimes, it feels like I’m standing in one of those rooms, in a riddle, where there are all these doors. And it’s like, why wouldn’t I keep opening them? Even if what’s behind is something kind of annoying, I’d rather find out. I think it will be hard for me to know if I should ever take a break, or focus on something else, because I feel so grateful that I get to keep opening that dang door.”
Lupita, on the other hand, dished about her success, despite the fact that her agent told her, her skin was “too dark for African television”: “I grew up with a very limited mirror of myself. I watched a lot of TV, but the people on it were always light skinned. And now I have a platform that takes me into people’s houses and onto the pages of their magazines.”
As for Amy, she explained how she spent most of her twenties trying to find her own voice. “I wasn’t working, and I wasn’t happy. I kept trying different acting techniques, like, I’d try to act like the actresses who were getting hired. I thought maybe then I’d get a job. I spent the majority of my twenties trying to figure out who I was and where I fit in, not just in Hollywood, but also in the world. It took me a long time to sort of find my own voice.”
Aside from all of the amazing things these women had to say about their lives and careers, they also all looked stunning on the covers. KStew was styled by Barbara Baumel and she rocked a Chanel dress, of course. While Anna Kendrick was styled by Samira Nasr and she rocked a Calvin Klein sweater and jeans with Anita Ko earrings, Hearts on Fire bracelets, as well as Tiffany & Co. jewels and Shay Fine Jewelry. Lupita Nyong’o was also styled by Samira Nasr and we’re obsessed with her colorfully bedazzled Dolce & Gabbana jumpsuit.
We cannot wait to pick up the November issue of ELLE which hit newsstands on October 18! What do you guys think of the covers? Which one was your favorite? VOTE.
