YAAS, Tim Kaine! The vice presidential candidate hit up Tyler Oakley’s online talk show and learned some new slang terms. He got to give a special shoutout to his ‘bae’, wife Anne Holton! Click through to watch the hilarious interview!
Hillary Clinton‘s running mate, Tim Kaine, 58, appeared on the October 9 episode of The Tyler Oakley Show to discuss the importance of voting, and how he’s totally on fleek. And by that, we mean Tyler thought the best way to relate to millennials would be to learn some key slang terms. It was just as awkward, and hilarious as you would think. He really lived up to his label of America’s Nice Dad as he adorably fumbled through the interview!
Tyler ran the gamut of slang with Tim, asking him to define on fleek, YAAAS, #TBT, and “Bye, Felicia.” Tim did pretty well, all things considered! It was clear that Tim’s favorite term was “bae.” He totally got what that one meant. “Your first of your first, right? My wife Anne [Holton], of course!” How cute!
They also discussed the very important issue of squad goals. Tyler flashed a photo of Tim clasping hands onstage with Bill Clinton and President Barack Obama at a campaign event, as an example of the perfect squad. It’s true! “Oh, and Dave Matthews was there, too!” Tim said, giggling. And he wonders where he got that America’s dad label.
All joking aside, Tim was there to reach out to millennials to get them to vote in the general election on November 8. Millennials make up a large chunk of the US population, but they’re less likely to show up to the polls. And voting is so important, no matter who you’re supporting!
