Oh no, is Gary Kubiak okay?! Denver Broncos fans were worried after the team’s head coach was rushed to the hospital following the conclusion of the Oct. 9 game against the Atlanta Falcons. See their worried tweets and get an update on Gary’s condition right here!
Although it was a beautiful day for a football game in Denver, Gary, 55, was experiencing flu-like symptoms throughout the game. He was able to coach all four quarters, but was immediately taken to the hospital once the game was over for “precautionary reasons.” Doctors evaluated the coach upon his arrival, and are continuing to check out his symptoms.
Fans were already pretty torn up over the Broncos‘ 23-16 loss to the Falcons (which happened to be the team’s first loss since December 2015), but hearing that Gary had been hospitalized made matters even worse. Some fans were asking for an update on his condition while others were simply praying that he’d be okay. Even one of Gary’s players, safety T.J. Ward, couldn’t help expressing his concern for Coach Kubiak! See the tweets below:
Prayers out for Coach Kub! 🙏🏾

While any hospitalization is scary, Gary’s is particularly concerning because this isn’t the first time he’s had a health scare during a game. Gary suffered a mini-stroke in 2013 when he was the head coach of the Houston Texans, which made fans’ concerns even stronger when he was hospitalized for being sick this time around. No wonder so many fans were praying he was okay!
Fortunately for Broncos fans and players alike, it sounds like Gary is going to be just fine. Several updates from sports reporters and outlets have said that he’s feeling better and “resting comfortably” in the hospital. It’s still uncertain whether he’ll be coaching the Broncos’ Oct. 13 game against the San Diego Chargers, but at least fans can rest assured he’ll be back eventually!
