Martin Shkreli has previously been dubbed ‘the most hated man on the internet,’ having caused uproar on several occasions for his controversial choices. The pharmaceutical executive clearly isn’t afraid of ruffling feathers. Here’s our list of his most offensive acts throughout the years.
1.) Martin Shkreli hiked up the price of a life-saving HIV drug by 4,000 percent overnight.
The ex CEO of New York-based pharmaceutical company Turing made headlines for jacking up the rate of Daraprim, causing national mayhem. It’s commonly used to treat people with weak immune systems such as HIV and cancer patients. Just to give you context, the price went from $13.50 per pill to $750 overnight, which is obviously no chump change.
2.) The Pharmaceutical executive didn’t feel bad about it in the least.
Martin added insult to injury by trying to explain that he had a method to his madness, stating that he planned to develop newer versions of the drug. He also noted how his company was the first to “really focus on the product” for decades. The former hedge fund manager said they planned to work with insurance companies and hospitals to provide the drug to uninsured patients. When fans came forward to slam him, he responded accordingly.
@exophrenologist what if it wasn't priced fairly to begin with… Mind blown?!

3.) He asked Kanye West to sell him the Life Of Pablo instead of releasing it to the public.
At first, it seemed like Martin was joking when he reached out to the “Famous” rapper, asking for the rights of his forthcoming album so it wouldn’t get “released publicly.” In his official letter, he wrote, “instead of releasing this product for your millions of fans, I ask you to sell this recording solely to me, for the price of $10,000,000.” Martin continued, “Kanye and his label are legally required to take my offer letter to their Board of Directors.” Luckily, it didn’t work out.
4.) Martin tweeted out Hillary Clinton’s personal e-mail and private contact information.
The pharmaceutical tycoon attacked the 68-year-old Democratic nominee on Oct. 7, posting her alleged email address for the world to see. As if that wasn’t bad enough, he also gave out the private email and phone number for her Director of Operations Marissa McAuliffe! Martin is known for being a major Donald Trump supporter, but he definitely went WAY too far.
5.) The former hedge fund owner supports Donald Trump’s lewd comments.
A scandalous 2005 audiotape of Donald, 70, made its rounds on Oct. 7, showing him talking about trying to get with a married woman — Nancy O’Dell. Donald says on the tape, “I’ll admit it. I did try to f**k her, she was married…and I moved on her very heavily.” When fans began tweeting about the clip, Martin was interjected due to his unwavering support for the Republican nominee. He responded, “Donald was talking about how to score with women–is this a topic you are familiar with? guys historically have to make the first move.” Yikes.
