‘Maze Runner’ star Dylan O’Brien gave fans a scare when he injured himself on set of his upcoming movie, but they’ll be happy to know he’s doing just fine! The actor broke his silence on Twitter — see his first message here!
Phew, we were starting to get worried! But Dylan, 25, appears to be A-okay after a four-month silence on Twitter, the star shared a brief message with his millions of followers on Oct. 5. “LGM baby,” Dylan tweeted. For those who may not be keeping up with sports, Dylan is a huge fan of baseball and the New York Mets. The abbreviation he tweeted stands for “Let’s Go Mets.”
Dylan’s first tweet is following reports that he was injured while filming Maze Runner: The Death Cure in Vancouver, Canada back in Mar. 2016. While it was unclear what and how Dylan had been injured, we can imagine that it was probably brutal considering the amount of stunts and action scenes in the first edition to the franchise, Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials. In addition to his latest tweet, Dylan was also spotted back in Aug. 2016, grabbing some Jamba Juice in an unrecognizable first pic.
But shortly after the incident, Maze Runner director, Wes Ball updated fans on his condition. “I’m sorry for the grief this accident has caused his friends and family as well as my wonderful cast and crew,” Wes commented on Twitter. “It’s scary seeing your friend get hurt, but fortunately, Dylan is going to be just fine. After a few weeks of rest and recovery he will be back up and running to finish our adventure together. All the best.” SO sweet!
Sadly, Dylan’s injury delayed the film’s theatrical release a whole year. The film was initially scheduled to premiere in Feb. 2017, but it is now set for Jan. 2018. While fans are a little bummed they have to wait an extra year, it’s good to see Dylan slowly coming around. Unfortunately, the Mets didn’t nab the win against the San Francisco Giants. But hopefully this won’t be the last of Dylan’s tweets.
