Buy-bye Tower of Terror, hello, Guardians of the Galaxy — Mission: Breakout! Disney has unveiled a first look at the new Marvel ride coming to Disney California Adventure in summer 2017, and you can WATCH a preview of the attraction right here.
Good news, Guardians of the Galaxy fans — your next trip to Disneyland California is about to get a whole lot more exciting. A ride modeled on the blockbuster film is set to replace the Tower of Terror next summer — WATCH the video above for more info and a first look at the amazing attraction!
“A huge transformation is underway now at Disney California Adventure park, as The Collector’s Fortress takes shape at the site of what is now the Hollywood Tower Hotel,” Erin Glover, the Editorial Content Director of Disneyland Resort, writes on the official Disney blog. “This ‘warehouse, fortress-like power plant’ is designed to be intimidating and imposing, but also shimmering and regal.” Sounds amazing!
As we can see in the video, the freefall ride, inspired by the 2014 Guardians of the Galaxy film — starring Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Bradley Cooper, and Vin Diesel — features an awesome color scheme of oranges, reds, yellows and metallic gold and silvers. Of course, it’s got its own backstory; the ride is the fortress of the Collector, who as you recall from the films is a character who hoards living beings from around the universe. We can’t wait!
The attraction will open to the public at Disney California Adventure park in summer 2017, which seems like light years away, but fortunately, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 comes out May 5 so that should be enough to hold you over!
