PEYTON LIST:

*Where does the second episode pick up?
It just jumps off exactly where we left off. It’s really just going from we need to communicate because we just did something horrible and dealing with the biggest issue at hand, which is Julie’s disappearance. They have altered the future drastically for themselves. Not for the rest of the world as much, but it has really altered their reality. They really just jump off with that immediately and you also see the other ramifications happen.

*Is there going to be more changing of the past?
Yes, we do. We delve into that because there are bad things that happen because of what they did. At the core, they’re good people. They don’t want to have caused any harm, so they’re trying to clean up the mess they’ve created basically. So you do see them try to fix things and try to make things less altered without Frank dying again. It’s an interesting thing, and they don’t know how to go about doing it. A lot of 102 going forward is them trying to figure how to do it.

*Is the show going to continue to follow the plot of the movie?
I think we actually covered a lot of the movie in the pilot, and then we continue it as we go forward. But what Jeremy has done very cleverly is opened up other storylines within it. When you weren’t looking, he was opening up other storylines which will carry us through in other episodes. We do follow the movie to a certain extent. But when he changes things, like, that fact that Frank wasn’t a firefighter. The fact that he was a cop opens it up to more of a cop drama element.

RILEY SMITH

*What’s next for Frank?
A lot of the same and more complicated. This whole storyline is going to play out for a long time, and I think the main thing we’re trying to do is find The Nightingale. It’s going to be a lot of that, and along the way a lot of twists and turns.

MEKHI PHIFER

*How will your character evolve over the course of the season?
Well, we’re going to really delve into Satch. As episodes 2, 3, 4 happen, you will really see because Satch is a conduit between both of their worlds. Depending on what happens, it shows how important to each character he is. YOu will see his past. You will see his lifestyle. You will see OK he’s married in 1996 but why isn’t he married in 2016. And being a detective and doing street work and undercover work. And being a detective for 25 years, to finally make lieutenant there’s got to be some dirt there. Things that were swept under the rug that might come to light. But I think innately he’s a good guy, so I think the audience will be able to relate to him.

*How loyal is he to Raimy and Frank?
Very loyal. They’re like family to him. He’s very loyal, but also not in a blind loyalty. He loves them, and sometimes he has to show them tough love. It’s a loyalty but not blind loyalty.
