Emily Blunt rocked a gorgeous magenta lip and cool, undone waves at the New York City premiere of ‘Girl On The Train’ on October 4. Get tips from her glam squad on how to copy her exact look below!
Ashley Streicher created the textured, beachy waves in Emily Blunt’s hair. She told us: “Emily is wearing a custom Prada dress tonight. Because it’s quite classic, Jenn [makeup artist] and I definitely wanted to modernize her look a bit with hair and makeup, wearing her cute new bob down.”
Here is the how to:
Ashley started with StriVectin HAIR Color Care Shampoo & Conditioner, and StriVectin HAIR Color Care Vibrancy Booster to give Emily’s blonde locks bounce and shine.
On damp hair, she applied StriVectin HAIR Ultimate Restore Densifying Foaming Treatment on the roots, and StriVectin HAIR Max Volume Bodifying Radiance Serum from mid-length through the ends. Comb hair to combine and distribute product.
Blow dry hair using a small/medium round brush for soft waves and texture.
When hair is dry, use a rat tail comb to create a side part. Ashley sprayed “a dry texture spray at the roots only, so ends stayed shiny and separated.”
“Next, Ashley chose random pieces of hair and went over the wave with a flat iron, giving it an organized, flat wave.” Ashley finally set her hair with a strong hold hairspray.
Jenn Streicher wanted a “modern and edgy” makeup look to complement her dress. Jenn said: “I wanted to highlight Emily’s flawless skin and give her a unique lip color that you never see on the red carpet.” She used Laura Mercier products to get the look.
Here is the makeup how to:
To prep the skin, Jenn started with the Sisley Paris Black Rose Precious Face Oil for a dewy glow.
For a long-lasting look, she used Laura Mercier Foundation Primer – Hydrating all over the face for a flawless makeup base. She also used the Laura Mercier Foundation Primer – Radiance on the cheekbones for a subtle highlight.
For her gorgeous skin, Jenn used Laura Mercier Silk Crème Moisturizing Photo Edition Foundation in Ivory and set with Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder. “If you have gorgeous skin like Emily’s, you can make anything look good,” Jenn said.
Jenn lightly dotted Laura Mercier Crème Cheek Colour in Rosebud on cheeks for a rosy glow. For a highlight, she used the NEW Laura Mercier Candleglow Concealer and Highlighter just above Emily’s cheekbones and under her eyes to brighten.
Jenn used Laura Mercier Eye Basics in Wheat , and followed that with a swipe of sparkle thanks to Laura Mercier Caviar Stick Eye Colour in Rosegold. For definition, she used Laura Mercier Tightline Cake Eye Liner in Black Ebony and multiple coats of Laura Mercier Extra Lash Sculpting Mascara in Black Onyx.
She used the NEW Laura Mercier Brow Dimension Fiber Infused Colour Gel in Brunette on her brows. Jenn said: “I love using the colored gel because it can help to darken the ends of the brows where they tend to get a little bit light.” She achieved extra bold brow thanks to the Hourglass Arch Brow Sculpting Pencil.
Finally, “Emily’s entire look was based around the lip color,” Jenn revealed. She combined two shades: Laura Mercier Velour Lovers Lip Colour in French Kiss and Laura Mercier Velour Lovers Lip Colour in Boudoir by using the Laura Mercier Lip Colour Brush for the unique, one-of-a-kind color.
