While Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie obviously love their children very much, HollywoodLife.com has learned EXCLUSIVELY that raising their famous bunch is actually what led to their heartbreaking split! And while having 6 kids is tough enough, it was apparently beyond ‘stressful’ for the acting duo with their busy schedules and children’s ‘diverse needs.’
Brad Pitt, 52, and Angelina Jolie, 41, are going through a vicious divorce and custody battle, which apparently was sparked by the stress of raising such a large, famous family! And while the couple allegedly wanted to make their relationship work at first, their different parenting styles is what ultimately tore them apart. SO sad!
“A major factor which led to Angelina and Brad divorcing was the difficulty of raising their children,” a source close to the couple revealed to HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY. “The pressure and stress of raising so many children, with such diversity and a wide range of needs, was extremely difficult for the famous couple to handle.”
And we totally get that. But it’s still such a shame that they had to come to this devastating point. After all, Brad reportedly is only allowed to see his children during special, supervised visits, which can’t be easy for the father-of-six. “As the children grew and their needs evolved, so did Brad and Angie’s parenting styles,” the insider continued. “Simple decisions became more challenging over the years and the spotlight that came with their fame only intensified feelings and increased the stakes.”
Brad and Angie have six kids together: son Maddox Chivan, 15; son Pax Thien, 12; daughter Zahara Marley, 11; daughter Shiloh Nouvel, 10; and twins Knox Leon and Vivienne Marcheline, 8. And the group truly is quite a diverse bunch. Shiloh is the couple’s first biological child with Knox and Vivienne being their second and third. All the rest of their children were adopted from overseas. We can only imagine how difficult it would be to raise such an electric family.
“While the parents agreed on life issues early in their parenting, they slowly grew apart over the years. Raising one or two children is a lot of work, but six, was more than Brad and Angelina’s relationship could handle,” our source explained. “On top of the children were these massive multi-million dollar careers they had to manage and the stress of their lives became too much to deal with. For Angie, something had to give and unfortunately she decided she wanted to continue on her journey without Brad.”
