That’s a rough hit! The Texans may have just lost one of their star players! J.J Watt, a defensive end for Houston’s NFL team, re-injured his back just TWO months after surgery, and now, there’s concern that he’s going to miss the rest of the season. Find out the truth, here.
J.J Watt, 27, hurt his back during the Sept. 22 match against the New England Patriots, and has been placed on the injured reserve list, according to USA Today. This suggests J.J could return to the field by the end of the season. J.J will reportedly miss a MINIMUM of eight weeks, which means he might be good to go by Week 12. The Texans made the decision to place J.J on the injured list on Sept. 28.
This is the second time in two months that the defensive player has severely hurt his back. J.J had surgery for a herniated disc in July, and this recent injury appears to be the exact same! That’s not good news for the Houston team. In wake of this worrying incident, J.J (who was rumored to be dating Kate Hudson) took to Twitter to post a reaction of his own. “Adversity sucks. Your attitude towards it doesn’t have to. I will be back,” he tweeted.
Also injured on the Texans is Brian Cushing. The inside linebacker sprained a ligament in his right knee while battling the Chicago Bears. Good news is that he recently returned to practice, and might be able to play by the Oct. 2 game against the Tennessee Titans. The Texans were 2-0 as they headed into Week 3 to play against the Patriots, which is when J.J sadly took a tackle and landed poorly on his back. The Texans lost by a staggering 0-27, so hopefully they’ll redeem themselves in Week 4!
HollywoodLifers, do you think J.J will return by the end of the season?
