Well, my queens, we have a serial killer on our hands, and this one happens to be clad in green and leaves a trail of swampy footprints at every murder scene. Oh, and Hester, who’s locked away in a secure facility, knows who it is.
So. much. happened on the second episode of Scream Queens. From Dr. Holt’s uncontrollable hand, Hester’s freakish demeanor, Chad Radwell’s personal investigation, Munsch’s illness and Colton Haynes‘ different appearance, this was an interesting episode, to say the least.
First and foremost, for those who were concerned, Abigail Breslin as “Number 3” is alive and well, and the Chanels are still treating her like crap. The girls tried to pin the murder of Cecily Strong’s werewolf girl on Chanel #3 and accused her of not taking her meds since they left the insane asylum. You think they’re probably kidding until she literally beats up two guys in a restaurant who make fun of CURE’s newest patient with tumors all over his face, played by an unrecognizable Colton Hayes.
We finally got a glimpse at Hester’s (Lea Michele) situation, and it’s not looking good. After Dr. Cathy Munsch (Jamie Lee Curtis) is attacked in the hospital by the Green Devil, but fights him off with a manila folder as a weapon and some seriously impressive karate, she enlists the Chanels and Detective Denise Hemphill to help figure out what is going on. This leads them to visit Hester in jail, where we see her in a blue jumpsuit (Blue is the New Black, anyone?) speaking through a plexiglass wall. Hester lists off a series of demands, such as discontinued beauty products and a room with a view, in exchange for information on the Green Devil. We’ll see what happens there, but something tells me it won’t be the last we see of last season’s maniac killer.
Throughout the episode, Zayday (Keke Palmer) is researching the history of the hospital, as she believes Munsch is up to more than she’s letting on. We’re taken back to the ’80s, where Laura Bell Bundy and Jerry O’Connell are dressed for yet another Halloween party at the hospital – this time Jerry’s in a rocket ship costume and Laura is “Uranus.” Clever. Different from last episode, this Halloween ends with the massacre of every single hospital employee, killed by none other than the Green Devil.
A lot of us are still wondering, though, why did Munsch even start this hospital? Especially on a location with such a dark history as this one. We find out that she has an incurable disease she picked up after eating human parts in New Guinea and founded the hospital to try to find herself a cure. Zayday, who diagnosed Munsch, gives her a year to live and is sworn to secrecy. Little do they know, Munsch’s office is bugged by an opioid-addicted Kirstie Alley who’s listening in on their convo.
In a completely different storyline, Dr. Holt (John Stamos) and Chanel’s (Emma Roberts) romance has progressed, but his crazy hand keeps acting up, as does Chad’s jealousy. The two face-off in a “squash battle,” where Dr. Holt literally dominates. Oh, and let’s not forget another steamy shower scene with John Stamos. Yaaas.
But, the crazy hand and Dr. Holt’s squash skills lead Chad to do some investigating on who Holt’s hand donor was. We find out that the uncontrollable, somewhat dangerous hand happened to originally be the hand of a serial killer who killed more than 600 people. The guy also happened to be one of the world’s best squash players, obvi.
The episode concludes with a death, per usual, and this time it was the beloved Teen Wolf actor we were so looking forward to seeing in this episode. After a romantic farewell to Chanel #3, Colton’s character Tyler was taken by the Green Devil to get “surgery” on the thousands of tumors that covered his body, but instead was killed. I guess our dreams of he and Taylor Lautner uniting as werewolves will have to be put to rest. Although, with Ryan Murphy, you never really know.
Well, HollywoodLifers, Scream Queens is back in two weeks and it looks like Chanel may be getting married, so, until then let us know what you thought about tonight’s episode in the comments below! Who do you think is the Green Devil?
